Attendance at this year's Kentucky State Fair rose slightly over last year's total, this was the third consecutive year that more than 600,000 people turned out for the 11-day showcase.
A total of 605,565 visitors attended the fair, compared with 602,897 in 2010. The total was the second highest in five years.

Concert attendance was up 12 percent from 2010 to 46,494 who attended the four Main Stage Concerts, including a sell-out crowd of 15,493 for country singer Jason Aldean.

The fair also had a record sum for the live 4-H and FFA Sale of Champions auction with $139,500. The old record was $127,250 set in 2008.

Fairgoers could also download, for the first time, a “Web app”, to pull up general information about the 2011 Kentucky State Fair.  It didn’t just include the IPhone, Blackberry and Droid users could use the app as well.  And, Facebook followers could keep abreast on all happenings at the Fair…and more.  What a Great Fair!  Thanks Kentucky!
